Ambiguity Resolution

According to whom, according to what?

Ambiguity Resolution is a workshop series that 3AM LAB organized in the scope of the Arch432 course. The inspiration comes from Daily Life Studies by the Ambiguity Standards Institute. The main goal of the workshop series was to seek answers to the question “what perception do we get if we scale architectural structures with ambiguous measures and concepts that we often use?”. As 3AM, we aimed to answer the question by organizing workshop series that emphasize collective work and various ideas.

After the workshop layout is planned, we announced the workshop on social media. We received applications from people studying at different universities and mostly departments related to design. The workshop started with an introduction session by the conductors which was followed by a group discussion and then the exercise. After all, it was interesting to explore how to use different ambiguous standards to measure a structure based on each participant’s individual ideas and inspirations.

After the workshops, as 3AM LAB, we analyzed all the data and categorized the projects. By visualizing the data, we collected outcomes on a website to allow everyone to access all the information.
